Borrowed Breath

Hey, so in amongst all the book stuff, there’s a new Disappointed Skeptics Club album out too! As usual it was written and recorded during February Album Writing Month, and I’ve spent the time since tweaking it.

But there are no more tweaks to be made. It is done.

So, the album is called Borrowed Breath. This year’s theme was to ‘borrow’ all of the song titles (apart from the title track) from other sources. Found titles, essentially. Words and phrases stolen from chance remarks, overheard conversations, TV dialogue, even the commentary of a Luton Town v Manchester United football match, and spun up into new stories. It’s was a fun challenge and I hope you like the 11 songs that made the final cut.

Some of the songs are quite dark in nature, so it’s important to say that they’re all entirely fictitious and not based on anyone I’ve ever met or anything like that. (Actually, that’s the case for all DSC songs, but I want to emphasise it here.)

Borrowed Breath is available on Bandcamp now. It will probably surface on the streaming service of your choice sometime soon, but Bandcamp is best. (You all know that, right? Ach, of course you do. You’re the good guys!)
