In what feels like a really rather wonderful episode of deja vu (see my previous post), the British Fantasy Award shortlists for 2025 have been announced today, and … both Charlie Says and Nova Scotia vol2 are finalists in their categories. Again!
This feeling never gets old, and I’m exceptionally grateful to everyone who voted for these two books, as well as the publishers, Black Shuck Books and Luna Press Publishing, my co-editor, Andrew J Wilson, and everyone who bought, promoted, or said nice things about them in the last year. It makes the hard work worthwhile.
Interestingly, this now makes four times that I’ve had the same works shortlisted for both the BSFA and British Fantasy awards. I guess that makes me ‘cross-genre appeal’ or something? I’ll definitely take it!
Congratulations to all the British Fantasy Award shortlistees, and good luck to the judges in their deliberations.
If you’re going to World Fantasy Convention in Brighton later in the year, come say hello!
Congratulations, Neil!
