A couple of months back I was invited to take part in an excellent new thing, the Papertrail Podcast. Host Alex Blott got in touch and explained that the premise was to have a conversation with writers about the books that have left an impression on them. So, I went away and thought about it for a bit and came up with a list of three books, and then Alex – dedicated to the last – went away and read them, and then we got together and talked.
And I really enjoyed it, Alex is an insightful reader and a great host. You can find out which my choices (by Graham Joyce, Jonathan Carroll and Joyce Carol Oates) he enjoyed, and which he really didn’t and how those books might have affected me as a writer, by taking a listen.
It’s worth catching up with the podcast’s other episodes too, and following it on Twitter: @papertrailpod for future installments.
