NAF: KING CREOSOTE / Flick The Vs

Every KC I’ve heard sounds slightly different. This one has the usual mix of acoustic and electric instruments, but there’s considerably more  electronica than on Bombshells or KC Rules OK which gives it a more ethereal overtone. On first listen the songs are more downbeat and introspective (for KC, surely not possible!) too. But I like it. I like it a lot. Special mention for the backgrounded revists of musical themes and lyrical lines from older tracks.

For it’s floaty, non-grabbiness, I’m guessing this will become a key writing record.

ps  The Danananackroyd album scared the crap out of me on first listen. Punchy production? In an a down-at-heel, dangerously, desperately drunk, ex-boxer named Reg  kinda way. Will revisit when I feel braver.
