Record Store Day 2011

No NAF this Friday because I’m saving my pennies for Record Store Day tomorrow. For those that don’t know about it, Record Store Day is a chance celebrate your local indie record shops. The little places who sell new and second hand music at proper reasonable prices, that stock the really cool stuff you can’t get in the mega stores and who bother to carry self-produced albums and EPs  by local acts that don’t have a label.

So tomorrow I’ll be spending some time in Love Music and Monorail, enjoying some of the in-store live performances, checking out the exclusives and hopefully coming home with a stash. I’ll report the haul over the weekend, but if there’s a local record store in your town do yourself a favour, go pop in and see what’s happening. You might grab yourself a bargain, or discover a new favourite band.
