Little Shop of Speculations

Really enjoyed my slot at The Speculative Bookshop last night. Great format, lovely audience and ace performances from all the speakers. Never much of a comics person, I nevertheless enjoyed John Lees’ introduction to horror comics and Adam Murphy’s career retrospective, and I’m loving Adam’s Corpse Talk, interviews with dug-up famous people. Leo Glaister provided a hugely entertaining entre act sequence, and the evening was topped off by Hal Duncan’s barnstorming rendition of his poem, Sodom. All that and it’s a superb place to pick up books by your next favourite indie press author.

The organisers/curators, Dale and Jen, should be colossally proud of their night, and if anyone wants to join me, I’ll at the next one like a shot.
