The new issue of Black Static – a double issue no less – goes to the printers this week and will be in our hands before we can say ‘scary stories’. I’ve loved this magazine since issue 1 (and it’s predecessor, The Third Alternative) and the debt I owe to editor, Andy Cox for publishing my stories not only in those magazines but also in Interzone is immeasurable.
The new issue has a new one from me too. Thirty-Two Tumbling Teeth, which explores what happens when you work the late shift in a 24hour laundrette and teeth start turning up in the machines, is probably one of the darker things I’ve written for a while. And it marks the start of what I’m hoping to be a series of stories about unasked-for bequests. More on this as and when the stories appear, hopefully.
If you like your short fiction strange and dark, and stunningly presented alongside superb art, go get yourself a copy of Black Static from the TTA Press shop.
