Last Exit…

Had the pleasure this week of a sneak preview of Chris Kelso‘s new novella, Last Exit To Interzone. It is most excellent bizarro fun. In what amounts pretty much to a love letter to the beat writers of the 50s and 60s – an admiration evident down to the punctuation – Kelso weaves a gonzo tale of a lowlife Glaswegian time detective and his complicated dealings with William Burroughs and Hubert Selby (whose literary works form the title of this story). It all adds up to a tale of time travel, tons of drugs and inadvisable alien sex, told in the style of Phil Dick at his most exuberant.

Well worth the $8. Just leave the Night Slime alone.
