Douglas Thompson and me : Scottish Writers Centre

One of the jewels in my already pretty sparkly and jam-packed full Worldcon (seriously it was like a Smaug’s hoard of good stuff), was bumping into fellow Glasgow-writer Douglas Thompson just before he launched his new novel, The Rhymer. This meant that I got to hear him read from what is possibly an genuinely unique enterprise – a satirical novel written entirely in rhyme. And the reading was brilliant.

If this description intrigues you, then you have a chance to catch Doug doing it again, this time closer to home as he launches The Rhymer and another new novel, The Brahan Seer, in the CCA’s Club Room next Tuesday. The event is free, and runs from 7pm-8.30pm. And will also feature me talking about and reading from The Moon King.

Be great to see you if you can make it.
